That was an exciting 10 days in the MTC. We got to hear several devotionals. Before the 1st devotional learned that we could park the car down by the building. After waling with Roy down to the devotional I (JoAnne) went back to get the car . I was so excited that I opened the door and locked the car and shut the door. I then discovered that the car was still running. I had to go find Roy and get the other set of keys so I could turn off the car. Luckily we did have the two sets of keys with us and we were early enough that I wasn't late. I was trying so hard to help Roy so he wouldn't have to walk so far, that I was in a hurry and didn't turn the car off before I locked the doors. I was a very good devotional by the way, Elder Richard G. Hinckley talked. The first week we learned lots from the PREACH MY GOSPEL. On Wed, Thurs, and Fri, we had additional classes with our Spanish tutor until 8:00 p.m. and then had to go back and study for the next day. We were really tired, but made it through the week. Saturday we did do a session in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. It was a wonderful session.
The next week we did training for the office. We had a great group. We learned how to add missionaries, write newsletters, pay bills, take care of cars, and more things that we might need to know.
On Tuesday we were able to hear the BYU devotional and watch it over the internet in our office classes. President Thomas S. Monson spoke and told about all the presidents of the church that he was acquainted with. Later that night we had a devotional at the MTC where Elder Jeffrey R. Holland spoke to the missionaries. It was also excellent. This week we finished our Spanish tutoring, but we still don't know a whole lot of Spanish.
We learned lots and we are now ready to head to Spain. We fly to Madrid on Monday morning. YEAH!
