What a marvelous group of people we were with this week. It has been a very busy and intense week. But what a marvelous spirit was felt there in the MTC. Some of this large group will be leaving today or tomorrow for their individual missions. We had a very large group---77 senior missionaries.
The spirit was so strong and everyone were so excited to be there. We learned a lot and got excited about going out in the mission field to begin our service to the Lord. On Tuesday we had a devotional where Elder Richard G. Hinckley and his wife spoke to all the missionaries, over 2000 were there. During the week we had lots of returned missionaries teach us, several young returned missionaries, plus senior returned missionaries. They all brought lots of enthusiasm and love for the Savior's work. One senior couple, Elder and Sister Burns talked about their missions and what they did to help activate some less active members, which sometimes led to the baptisms of several others. We all just fell in love with them and the spirit they brought to the meetings.
Last night after our language tutoring session we had a special testimony meeting with those of our group that were learning a language, where most of us bore our testimonies in the languages that we were learning. What a wonderful experience that was, even if we couldn't understand, Greek, Hungarian, Russian, Latvia and Czech. We could understand most of the Spanish and German.
